The short version

A quick summary. The full text below is what applies.

  • TESEA Learning helps you learn. It supports teachers and schools but does not replace them, and it does not guarantee exam results.
  • Keep your login details private. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
  • Learners under 18 should use TESEA Learning with the permission of a parent, guardian or school.
  • Be honest and respectful: submit your own work and treat everyone in live classes and community with respect.
  • Packages give access to TESEA Learning only. TESEA eBooks and JIPIME are separate services.
  • Lessons and materials belong to TESEA or its partners. Use them for your own learning, not for resale.

1. About these terms

TESEA Learning is operated by TESEA Academy Limited ("TESEA", "we", "us", "our"), a company in the United Republic of Tanzania and part of the TESEA education ecosystem, alongside TESEA eBooks and JIPIME.

These Terms of Use apply whenever you visit the website, create an account, or use TESEA Learning on the web, on a phone or offline. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use TESEA Learning.

If your school or institution gave you access, it may also have its own rules. Where they apply, please follow both.

2

2. Who can use TESEA Learning

TESEA Learning is designed for learners, parents and guardians, tutors, schools and education partners.

  • If you are under 18, a parent, guardian or your school must agree to these terms on your behalf and supervise your use of paid features.
  • Schools and institutions that register learners or tutors confirm that they have the authority, and any consents required, to do so.
  • You must give accurate information when you register and keep it up to date.
  • You may not use TESEA Learning if we have previously closed your account for breaking these terms, unless we agree otherwise.
3

3. Your account

Accounts are created for a specific role: learner, tutor, school administrator or another workspace role. Each role only sees the tools it needs.

  • Keep your password and verification codes confidential. Never share a one-time code with anyone, including someone who says they work for TESEA.
  • You are responsible for all activity that takes place on your account.
  • Accounts are personal. They must not be shared, sold or transferred.
  • Tell us immediately at teseaacademy@gmail.com if you believe someone has accessed your account without permission.
4

4. What TESEA Learning provides

TESEA Learning brings together courses for NECTA, Cambridge and Work & Life pathways. Depending on your package and your school, it can include:

  • Lessons in different formats: interactive text, video, audio, PDF notes, short videos and live sessions.
  • Live classes led by tutors, with timetables and reminders.
  • Quizzes, topic assessments, revision tools, progress tracking, badges and certificates.
  • Rafiki, an AI study assistant that explains lessons in simple language.
  • A community where learners can ask questions and learn together.
  • Offline access to selected lessons on your device.

Features may differ by pathway, level, package or school. What is available to you is shown in your account.

5

5. Schools and institutions

Schools and education partners can use a shared workspace to manage learners and tutors, publish class work and follow progress.

  • The school is responsible for the accounts it creates, for keeping learner and tutor details accurate, and for removing people who leave.
  • The school must have a lawful basis, and any parent or guardian consent required, for the learner information it enters.
  • School administrators and tutors may only use learner information to support teaching, assessment and wellbeing at that school.
  • Any separate written agreement between TESEA and a school applies alongside these terms. If the two conflict, the written agreement wins for that school.
6

6. Tutors and live classes

Tutors play a central role on TESEA Learning. If you teach on the platform, you agree to:

  • Deliver accurate, age-appropriate lessons and assessments that follow the relevant curriculum.
  • Publish only material you created or have the right to use.
  • Treat learners with respect, keep conversations professional and never ask learners for personal contact details or payment outside the platform.
  • Keep learner results and information confidential.

Everyone joining a live class should arrive on time, keep the chat on topic and follow the tutor's instructions. Do not record, screenshot or share a live class, or other learners, without permission.

7

7. Rafiki, the AI study assistant

Rafiki uses artificial intelligence to explain lessons, answer questions and suggest practice. It is a learning aid, not a teacher or an examiner.

  • Rafiki can occasionally be wrong or incomplete. Check important answers against your lesson notes or ask your tutor.
  • Do not include personal or sensitive information, such as phone numbers, addresses or health details, in your questions.
  • Do not use Rafiki to cheat in assessments or to produce work you then present as entirely your own.

Rafiki never makes decisions about your grades, access or account. A person can always review a result.

8

8. Assessments, results and certificates

Quizzes, assessments, scores, feedback and certificates on TESEA Learning show your progress on the platform. They are not official NECTA, Cambridge or other examination results, and TESEA does not guarantee any grade.

You agree to complete assessments honestly and on your own unless your tutor says otherwise. We may cancel results or certificates that were obtained by cheating, impersonation or misuse.

9

9. Plans, payments and access

TESEA Learning offers packages that unlock different pathways and features. Prices and what each package includes are confirmed in your account under Billing before you pay.

  • Payments are processed by our payment partners, including mobile money providers. We never ask for or store your mobile money PIN or full card details.
  • Access begins once payment is confirmed and lasts for the period you purchased.
  • Packages apply to TESEA Learning only. They do not include TESEA eBooks or JIPIME, which have their own plans.
  • If your school pays for your access, the school's agreement with TESEA decides how long that access lasts.
  • If a payment fails or you were charged incorrectly, contact us within 7 days and we will investigate. Refunds are given where required by law or where we cannot deliver the service you paid for.
10

10. Offline learning

Some lessons can be downloaded to your device so you can keep learning without a connection.

  • Downloads are for your personal use on your own device and are available for a limited validity period while your account and access remain active.
  • Progress made offline is saved on your device and synchronised when you reconnect.
  • Signing out clears downloaded files and any progress that has not yet synchronised on that device.
  • Do not copy, extract or share downloaded material outside TESEA Learning.
11

11. Community guidelines

The community is a place to ask questions, share ideas and help each other. To keep it safe and useful:

  • Be kind and respectful. Bullying, harassment, hate speech and discrimination are not allowed.
  • Keep posts about learning. No spam, advertising or unrelated links.
  • Do not share your own or anyone else's personal information, such as phone numbers, addresses or photos.
  • Do not post answers to live assessments or content you do not have the right to share.
  • Report anything that worries you. We may remove posts and restrict accounts that break these guidelines.
12

12. Acceptable use

To keep TESEA Learning fair and safe for everyone, you agree not to:

  • Cheat, impersonate another person, or help others to do so.
  • Copy, scrape, download in bulk, resell or publish lessons, questions or other content without our written permission.
  • Get around access controls, share paid access, or use another person's account.
  • Attempt to hack, overload, reverse engineer or disrupt the platform or its security.
  • Upload or send content that is unlawful, abusive, sexual, violent, misleading or that infringes the rights of others.
  • Misuse learner information or contact learners for purposes unrelated to their learning.
13

13. Content and intellectual property

Lessons, videos, audio, notes, questions, designs, logos and software on TESEA Learning belong to TESEA Academy Limited, our tutors or our licensors, and are protected by law.

We give you a personal, limited, non-transferable licence to use this content for your own learning while your access is active. This licence does not allow commercial use, redistribution or public display.

14

14. Content you submit

Your answers, assignments, community posts and messages remain yours. You give us permission to store, display and process them so we can mark your work, give feedback, run the community and improve the service, as explained in our Privacy Policy.

You confirm that anything you submit is your own or that you have the right to share it. We may remove content that breaks these terms.

15

15. Other services and links

TESEA Learning works with partners such as payment providers, video and meeting tools, email services and AI services. Their own terms may also apply when you use their features.

We may link to other websites, including TESEA eBooks and JIPIME. Each has its own terms and privacy policy, and we are not responsible for websites we do not operate.

16

16. Availability and changes to the service

We work hard to keep TESEA Learning available, but we cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted or free of errors.

We may improve, change, add or remove features, or temporarily suspend parts of the service, for example for maintenance or security. We will try to give notice of significant changes that affect what you have paid for.

17

17. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

TESEA Learning is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, TESEA is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, for lost opportunities or results, or for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as power or network outages.

Where we are liable, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for TESEA Learning in the 12 months before the event.

Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the consumer protection laws of Tanzania.

18

18. Suspension and ending your use

You can stop using TESEA Learning at any time and ask us to delete your account.

We may suspend or close an account if it seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, puts other users at risk, or if required by law. Where reasonable, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond.

Sections that by their nature should continue, such as intellectual property, liability and governing law, survive after your account ends.

19

19. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as TESEA Learning grows. When we make important changes we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, tell you in the app or by email. Continuing to use TESEA Learning after changes means you accept the updated terms.

20

20. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania.

If you have a concern, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it informally. If we cannot, disputes will be handled by the courts of Tanzania.
